I was so tickled to be the winner of an Instagram giveaway last week and received several stamp sets and two stencils from @linkcraftycards (Cheryl Espie)! I especially love this particular set by Jane’s Doodles called Plants. I chose two of the potted plants for my simple card. Using Versafine Onyx Black permanent ink, I stamped the small pot in the foreground first, then masked it, and stamped the large plant behind it. I colored the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers, added a shadow of light gray all around the edges and spattered some wet ink over all. Using a big soft makeup brush, I tapped it into Broken China Distress Oxide ink, then gently brushed the ink over the whole panel. I really like how it softly highlights the images! I love the sentiment that came with this set, and placed it at the top left. I also spattered droplets of water over the plants which gave them nice texture but unfortunately, a larger drop made the ink on the red pot run, so I stamped out “friend” onto a tiny scrap and mounted it over the spot with a bit of foam tape. Save!! The panel was adhered to a bright aqua blue layer than onto a white card base. This is not in my usual vibrantly colored, more complex style but I just love the clean simplicity of it!
