I had the pleasure yesterday of coloring with my stamping friend in Virginia via FaceTime! How fun is that?! She wanted to learn how to color these beautiful blossoms from Altenew’s Beautiful Day set the way I have. We stamped out our images on Bristol Vellum surface watercolor paper (I masked and layered mine) and proceeded to lay in lots and lots of color! What an enjoyable time we had! We used Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and for my background, I stamped lightly with a script-y sentiment stamp from Stampin Up’s retired Botanicals set. I trimmed the panel down to fit onto a black card base, keeping it simple to showcase the flowers! At the very end, I spattered a little watery black ink and then droplets of water; I love how it adds almost a patina! The sentiment is from a retired Stampin Up set called Fabulous Florets. Again, I give credit for this technique of coloring and color palette to the very talented “pearlyg8s2” who’s original card I copied fromFlickr~ I stamped out the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink onto a scrap of the watercolor paper, smudged a little Black Soot distress ink around the edges and lifted it with a strip of fun foam.
